I put filmed this video using my 1999 Sony DCR-525 camcorder in the summer of 2001. We collected footage over the summer and put everything together using Adobe Premiere. These days I film with GoPro but it’s a real throw back to see what we were able to do with old technology, magnetic tapes and short battery lives. The quality is noticeably lower that what we have come to expect on the internet today but that was partially by design. Not only has the camera industry made huge leaps and bounds in capturing technology, but our internet connections have gotten much faster as well. When I put these together, the average user had to wait about a minute for the file to download and stream – now it’s instantenous. For a few years now I have been working with the team at the Queen’s University Enrichment Studies Unit with their custom PHP/MySQL online registration management system.  This summer, Andy approached me and asked what I could do to spruce up the website. The result, a clean, slick WordPress driven website that the staff are able to completely manage themselves.  Armed with a few training sessions and a full-colour users’ manual, they’re able to add content, create news posts, bring in videos and images and re-organize their menu and page structure.
